You are invited to an event on the role of Health Care in ESG with a focus on Social impacts on Wednesday 20 March 2024 in Zurich hosted by the INSEAD Swiss Healthcare Club and the INSEAD Women in Business (IWIB). In the wake of Davos and WEF24 and the changing roles of industry in the era of Sustainability and a focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ESG in Health Care: Focus on the Social Pillar
A panel debate with open questions and audience discussion

A panel of experts will discuss the role of the Health Care industry in ESG with a strong focus on the Social pillar, so do expect a debate on supply chain, Carbon utility or scope 4. Our three panellists will touch on a broad range of topics from investing with impact, through clinical trials and capacity building, workforce and inequalities in healthcare access with deep dives triggered by questions from the audience.

Sonja Haut
Sonja is the author of “The Case for Impact”. Her opinion pieces, articles and podcasts on impact are available on www.sonjahaut.com. In her day job, Sonja is the Head Impact Valuation at Novartis. She has worked on impact valuation since 2015. She leads the Novartis Value Balancing Alliance (VBA) engagement and co-chairs the Valuation Technical and Practitioner Committee of the International Foundation for Valuing Impacts (IFVI). Sonja is a member of the Capitals Coalition Advisory Panel and Value Commission; the WEF Global Future Council “Future of Growth” (starting 2023), “Economic Growth and Recovery” (2020-2022) and “New Economic Agenda” (2019-2020); and is part of the ISSB Technical Reference Group.  
Sonja holds an MBA from IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland and degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Freiburg, Germany. She is a First Movers Fellow of the Aspen Institute, USA.
Dr. Pamela Ravasio
Dr. Pamela Ravasio is the founder and managing director of Shirahime Advisory, a Corporate Responsibility Governance boutique consultancy. She serves as fractional Chief Sustainability Officer for companies and advises boards on ESG and governance. With a background in roles like Global Stakeholder Manager, she played a key role in making the European outdoor industry a leader in future-proofing, and has been heavily involved in the development of social and environmental standard development. She currently sits on the boards of Polygiene AB and INSEAD’s International Directors Network.
Karen Hitschke
Karen is a Health Tech and Impact Investor, Board Member, Executive Manager and Coach. She currently holds several board memberships and advisory roles: She is a Board Member, Co-Founder and former Managing Director at Yunus Social Business (YSB) Global Initiatives, a pioneering Impact Investing organization which funds social businesses in the Global South.
Joining the organisation at its inception in early 2012, Karen built and ran YSB’s worldwide Social Business Fund activities for nearly a decade. Other current board memberships include UnCap, an impact fund financing sub-Saharan entrepreneurs at scale, as well as the Karman Foundation which has the mission to foster collaboration for collaboration in space for the good of society. In addition, Karen acts as advisor to Auxxo, a European tech venture capital fund with exclusive focus on female founders and she is a member of the Investor Circle of btov, a Swiss-based tech investor active across Europe. Karen holds an MBA from INSEAD and a MSc in Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology from University of Constance, Germany.
