DeepTech Global Executive MBA meets Geneva Alumni, UVA Wine Bar
Thursday, 31 October 2024

You are invited to an after-work event in Geneva with the participants of the INSEAD Deep Tech Global Executive MBA KMC at “UBA Wine Bar”. During the evening, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing evening while networking with current students and CERN executives.

The INSEAD-CERN alliance is a unique programme designed to create commercial value from the deep science innovations developed at CERN: the world’s largest high-energy physics laboratory. This year the students are also working on innovations from the European Space Agency (ESA).

As part of these alliances the Deep-Tech KMC has been designed to explore the commercialisation of CERN and ESA innovations through startup creation, knowledge transfer to existing organisations, or other creative constructs. The programme takes place at CERN’s renowned Geneva facility.

Linn Kretzschmar
Entrepreneurship Development @ CERN | CERN Venture Connect

Linn Kretzschmar leads the CERN Venture Connect program, focusing on supporting startups that utilize CERN technologies. In her previous role as a Technology Transfer Officer at CERN, she managed a technology portfolio and led strategic industrial collaborations. Prior to joining CERN, she was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie researcher and lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, where she coordinated technology valorization projects with over 30 industrial partners and research organizations. Her career path has also included roles in innovation consulting and business development, where she honed her skills in technology and innovation management, as well as entrepreneurship.

Bill Magill
Adrian Johnson
Adjunct Professors at INSEAD

Bill and Adrian designed the DeepTech course, drawing on Bill’s extensive experience as a deep tech venture capitalist in Silicon Valley and Adrian’s background as a tech and media entrepreneur.
The course, inspired by Bill’s book, “The DeepTech Playbook”, guides participants through the journey of transforming deep technological innovations into viable commercial applications, while developing actionable business plans to bring those innovations to market.
At INSEAD, the course connects Global Executive MBA students with leading scientists, engineers, and mathematicians from CERN and the European Space Agency (ESA), fostering collaboration at the cutting edge of science and technology.
Beyond INSEAD, both Bill and Adrian continue to pursue innovative and entrepreneurial ventures.
